We offer Texas DPS approved Concealed Handgun License training as well as basic and advanced handgun marksmanship and proficiency classes. Our training is designed for both the new shooter and the experienced handgun enthusiasts. We especially encourage new or inexperienced handgun owners to obtain training before depending upon the use of the handgun for self-defense or in defense of your family. Click here for basic handgun class information! The concealed handgun license class is not a "learn to shoot" class. You will be required to demonstrate proficiency and safe handling of a handgun. Our training is done at the Terrell Rifle & Pistol Club facilities in Kaufman County between the city of Terrell and lake Tawakoni. This is a private facility and is not open to the public. You will be permitted to use the facilities only during the training. The training dates are posted on the schedule page. We will schedule additional classes for groups or as demand warrants. Our classes for new license begin at 8:00 a.m. Our renewal classes at 1:00 p.m. We conclude the training at about 6:00 p.m. Our emphasis is on firearms safety as well as marksmanship. Our instructors are experienced military and law enforcement professionals. The classes are done pursuant to the guidelines set by the State of Texas, The National Rifle Association, the International Defensive Pistol Association as well as other recognized professional organizations. We are ardent supporters of Second Amendment rights. We believe that every citizen has the right and should have the ability to defend himself or herself and their families.
